What Are Regulated Exams?
The exam boards below are recognised awarding organisations by Ofqual (the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations in England), and the corresponding regulatory authorities in Wales (Qualification Wales) and Northern Ireland (Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment).
What this means is that all regulated exams have been designed in such a way that a direct comparison can be made between those regulated exams and academic qualifications like GCSEs and A-levels. Learners taking these exams are tested on their knowledge, skills and understanding of the subject and will only be awarded a qualification if they show they have achieved the required level.
Regulated exams at Level 3 (Grades 6, 7 & 8) carry UCAS (The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) points for university and college application.
Non-regulated exams are specific to the exam board to which they are linked.

International Performing Arts & Theatre (I-PATH)
International Performing Arts & Theatre (I-PATH) is an exam board and membership association based in London with a global presence. It offers Ofqual-regulated graded exams, setting standards in performing arts education. I-PATH also offer unregulated graded exams in public speaking and SEND.
I-PATH’s unique achievement awards provide member teachers and studios with a flexible way to recognise their students’ achievements and efforts over time.
I-PATH’s is proud to be the only examination board and society with its own in-house talent agency. Talent Agency is dedicated to representing and nurturing young talents in performing arts. They specialise in a range of fields including Film, TV, Theatre, Commercials, and Voice Over work, exclusively for students from I-PATH registered schools or those taught by I-PATH Member Teachers.
